After what has been an extremely British centric summer we are delighted to be able to look back and know that we played a part in delivering the best Olympics of all time (even Lord Coe sent us a thank you letter!).

We are extremely happy with the impact that we have been able to deliver to improve the cycling infrastructure that is so desperately needed. Over the past month our efforts and opportunity to improve this even further has been confirmed; Bike Dock Solutions has after an 18 month tender process successfully been awarded the esteemed contract for Cycle Parking across the entirety of Greater London. We are ecstatic to say the least.

We will now be working with every School, hospital, museum, public building, business and station within the M25. The possibilities for us to improve the current Cycling infrastructure in London is incredible and unprecedented; we will do all that we can to make sure that over the next two - four years we deliver; In fact it's already started, we are currently working to improve the cycle facilities at a number of primary and secondary schools and there are plenty more to follow.

> December 2012 – Ark Shelter & Semi Vertical Rack

We were contacted by a company based in Essex to provide a covered solution to cater for both motorbike and cyclist commuters. After evaluating multiple options Bike Dock Solutions proposed an extended Ark Shelter, using semi vertical racks for the bike parking. Installation into paving required fitting into concrete pockets, this job was completed in under 2 days by our expert in-house installation team.

> November 2012 – Bike Shelters for Royal Borough’s Schools

Bike Dock Solutions were contacted by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead to provide new bike shelters for schools in the Borough. The largest installation was recently completed at Windsor Boys School, using a combination of 40 space BDS Enclosures and 10 space BDS Shelters the new bike storage has tripled capacity for secure storage of bikes at the school.
Bike Dock Solutions were chosen for their competitive prices and flexibility to meet the installation dates required.

> October 2012 – Two tiers for the Shard

Bike Dock Solutions were approached to provide bespoke two tier bike racks for the Shard. Due for completion in early 2013 the Shard will be the tallest building in Western Europe. Hailed as a landmark in design and engineering, 95% of the construction materials are recycled. Bike Dock Solutions were chosen as supplier partly as they were the only supplier to be able to meet the 3 week turnaround for a bespoke two tier rack design.

> August 2012- Bristol Compound for SAICA Paper

Bike Dock Solutions supplied and installed a 16 Space Bristol Enclosure with integral galvanised bike rack at the companies UK office is Manchester. SAICA Paper who produce sustainable packaging solutions requested the shelter to be powder coated traffic green to match the company colours and ideologies..

> August 2012- Bespoke Curved Cycle Shelter

Bike Dock Solutions were approached to supply and install as bespoke 10 space Curved Cycle Shelter for a stately home in Berkshire. The client opted for a powder coated toastrack to hold 10 bikes for employees and visitors.

In the summer of 2011 Bike Dock Solutions supplied 100 Traditional Sheffield stands (one of our most popular products) to Better Bankside through Transport for London’s cycle superhighway scheme.

Bike Dock Solutions recently supplied Two Tier bike racks on behalf of Exel Group providing 96 bike parking spaces for a new housing development.

Our in house product design team worked with Exel to produce layout drawings to clearly show the location of the proposed racks. The Two Tier Racks were installed in the basement of a new housing development in West London, this was the best solution for storing the maximum amount of bike in a small space.

Exel Group are Bike Dock Solutions latest client to choose the two tier rack as their preferred solution, following the likes of Barclays, JP Morgan, Marks and Spencer, Westfield, Peldon Rose and McArthur Group.

Although they were earlier than expected they kept in touch and started the installation whilst waiting for me to get to the site. They were professional, very friendly and informative and worked with me to pick the best place to site it.

Bike Dock Solutions were chosen to supply and install three 80 Space Enclosures at Castleview School, in Canvey Island. Castleview School, a specialist science college, relocated over the Christmas holdays, the new site has allowed the capacity of the school to increase. Bike Dock Solutions provided a total of 240 bike parking spaces across three locations on the school grounds..

Our designers worked with architects to meet all the requirements for the students and staff. The gates were fitted with self-closing gas struts to avoid them being left open during the school day.

A doubling in the number of journeys being completed by bike within the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham has resulted in the authority turning to Bike Dock Solutions, the specialist provider of secure cycle parking equipment and accessories, providing parking places across the borough. Bike Dock Solutions has provided a batch of 55 Stainless Steel Sheffield Stands increasing the number of parking spaces by 110.

David Beer, Site Manager at the academy chose Bike Dock Solutions and spoke of how pleased he was with the shelter. "We were impressed with the selection of shelters – there were a few products on the website that we were interested in. The prices were very competitive and the shelter itself is excellent quality. We originally wanted 16 bike stands which ideally would be sheltered, however Bike Dock Solutions offered us a 20 stand shelter for a similar price," David said.

"Staff and students alike are pleased that we now have somewhere secure to park bicycles. The shelter is under lock and key, so people can rest assured that their bikes are safe during the day. Hopefully, in the long-run, we'll see more people cycling to the academy on a daily basis," David said.

The BDS Shelter is one of Bike Dock Solution's best-selling products – constructed of mild steel, featuring a 5mm thick polycarbonate anti-vandal roof and optional swing or sliding gates. The assembly bolts and fittings required for installation are included with all BDS Shelters. Bike Dock Solutions is also now offering a new swipe card ID locking system.

Dan Smith, Compliance Manager at Roehampton University explained, "The bike stands were installed in central locations on our campus for use by staff and students alike. We chose Bike Dock Solutions for a variety of reasons; cost was a big factor and Bike Dock Solutions offered the most competitive price. The shelters ordered matched the existing shelters on-site and their professionalism leading up to and throughout the installation set them apart from their competitors."

Each BDS Shelter includes ten 'Toastrack' bike stands, which are ideal for multiple cycle parking. The stands are 750mm in height and 750mm wide, and can be bolted into surfaces like concrete or alternatively, can be fixed underground with submerged concrete supports.

"The shelters have gone down a storm and almost all of them are permanently full. The Student Union has even set up a bike pool for staff and students using one of the shelters as the base!" Dan exclaimed.

Bike Dock Solutions are moving for the fifth time since their establishment due to the rapid expansion of the company. The company are sufficing the increasing demand for their products through continuous recruitment and meeting the necessity of additional floor space. The new office is a stone’s throw away from the current Rivington Place office, located at 55 Charlotte Road, Shoreditch, London.

Being such an innovative company Bike Dock desired a blank canvas with a vision to ensure that every last detail of the office was going to be chosen by them. This vision incorporated the stripping of the entire 3rd floor of the Alpine Club on Charlotte Road.
