CHILDREN’S BIKES TARGETED WITH BESPOKE CYCLE PARKING FURNITURE

Bike Dock Solutions has launched the MiniDock, a new range of child-oriented cycle storage racks.

Ideal for school premises as well as town centres and even home use, these colourful and easy-to-use units are specifically designed for storing childrens’ bikes and scooters. MiniDocks are environmentally sustainable, space-saving and secure and are highly cost effective at just £40 per bike.

At less than 1.5 meters in diameter, the MiniDock not only saves space, but appeals to children by offering colourful, innovative and playful designs. There are three standard MiniDock designs: a rocket, a flower pot and a spider.

Security is important even with children’s bikes, so in line with the rest of the Bike Dock Solutions range, the MiniDock allows children to lock their bikes and scooters securely in place. The MiniDock can securely accommodate eight bikes and eight scooters and is designed to fit 12”-26” wheels, and so is specifically aimed at children up to 11 years of age. The MiniDock can also cater for the occasional teacher or adult bike with 26” wheels.

The MiniDock is a sustainable product which is 100% recyclable. Each MiniDock is made from at least 40% recycled steel and all are manufactured in the UK.
 

BIKE DOCK SOLUTIONS LAUNCHES TAILORED DESIGN SERVICE FOR ARCHITECTS

Bike Dock Solutions has launched a new tailored design service to enable architects, town planners and facility managers to ensure their cycle parking facilities look as if they have been designed as part of the overall landscape.

Customised cycle racks offer an inexpensive way to make a statement about the facility or to complement a theme or look of a facility. Moreover, Bike Dock can assist corporate reinforce their brand image by incorporating a company’s branding in the cycle dock itself thereby enabling them to simultaneously make a statement about supporting this alternative, environmentally friendly form of transport.

All Bike Dock Solutions require is a rough sketch, a logo or an initial idea and they can work with the client to turn their concept into a fully functional piece of street art.

“Customised racks are a great way for institutions to make their entrances more interesting as well as encouraging people to ride their bike,” explains Bike Dock’s Josh Coleman.

“For example, we can do bike rack that looks like dinosaur for a natural history museum or a fish-shaped rack for an aquarium. We can even do rocket-shaped racks for school playgrounds or racks with primed finishes so the pupils can paint them for themselves. The possibilities are limited only by peoples’ imaginations.”

Whatever the design, however, Bike Dock Solutions ensures that functionality and security are central to the design because, if cyclists don't like the rack, they won't use it. They will lock their bike to the nearest railing or lamppost instead. Therefore, all custom bike racks are designed to function with the design of the bike, so they won't be misused.
