Bike Docks Young Racers

New sponsors

At Bike Dock Solutions we are a very active workforce and wish to replicate this to our customers. Recently we were approached to sponsor Barking and Dagenham Cycling Club which consists of two race teams, an under 10 and 12 team.  All of the children on the racing team are products of the Bikeability level 2 road training course which is run by the cycling club for Barking and Dagenham council.

About our young racers

Both our teams are proving to be very successful with the children's dedication in their training paying off on race day. At present the series leader of the cyclopark summer series under 10’s in Kent is part of the team, with there also being a numerous number of top five finishers with some coming in 1st, 2nd and 3rd.  The group trains at Redbridge Cycling Centre twice a week with a road endurance session once or twice a week depending on the race schedule. This type of training gives a good example of the young racer’s dedication and willingness to achieve their goals.

Coaches

The training sessions at Redbridge Cycling Centre require a British Cycling qualified coach and as a result Andrew Griffiths is employed. He is a current professional road cyclist with Team IG Sigma.

Why we have chosen to sponsor

Last summer’s cycling success at London 2012 has created a great opportunity for the BDS brand to expand. Cycling’s popularity is constantly increasing with councils offering  schemes to encourage people to cycle to work, but also with the young being inspired by the success of the British Cycling team such as Sir Chris Hoy.

What our sponship helps

  1. Increase participation rates
  2. Providing the latest bikes and equipment
  3. Paying Andrew Griffiths the coach
  4. Improve results and awareness of the club
