Semi Vertical Rack – where do you put them?

March 22, 2016

Semi Vertical Rack.

Indoors or outdoors?

Either is fine. The semi vertical rack is hot dipped galvanised, which means it will not rust for at least 10 years. Some galvanising can even last 50 years plus. Galvanising is a process that electrically attaches this protection to steel. Which is different to just painting as it won’t last as long.

You can also keep the rack indoors. We can powder coat the racks on top of the galvanising in your colour of choice. We have red, yellow, black, grey, blue, dark blue, red, green, dark green and white. If you would like us to, we can even colour match say your school or business logo so it blends in with its setting.

Who and where does the semi vertical rack suit?

Anyone who needs cycle parking can use this bike rack. It has been known to be installed in garden sheds, garages, car parks, school playgrounds, under office stairs and even on the back of vans for transporting bikes.

What bikes can be used on the rack?

We have never heard of a bike not fitting on this rack, except for trikes! So even those of you that have the latest racing bike with extra thin wheels, or if you have a mountain bike with the widest tyres you can possibly buy, it will STILL fit on the semi vertical bike rack. How? Well the track itself is designed to be supporting for the thin wheels but enables fat tyres to rest on top. And the bike won’t just roll of it, thanks to years of perfecting the design, the angles of the track stop the bike from rolling down once it is put in place. Even heavier bikes with baskets or add ons.

How secure is it?

The Semi Vertical Rack has 3 locking points for the cyclist. For the front and back wheel, and the centre. We can offer an optional locking bar on the centre of the bike rack so you can apply your D lock there, or if the bikes are parked indoors in a secure location, you may not think it is needed.

The Assembly

It arrives flat packed so it will fit through even the tightest of doorways. We do provide drawings showing how to assemble it. But in simple terms, you just need to do bolt the frame together, then attach the racks for the bikes, bolt into the floor (if you wish to) and it’s finished!

Flexible in size

We make this bike rack to order, so if you need 3, 4, 5, 13, 24, 68 bikes we can make a frame to accommodate what you need. The frames can be bolted side by side with no loss of space, it really is a flexible way to park your bikes. To work out how many bikes you can fit in a space, all you need to do is measure the length and depth of the space you have. The rack is 1114mm deep. To calculate how many bikes you can fit in a length, simply divide the length of the space e.g. 4000mm and divide it by 305mm. Then subtract 1. In this case, 4000mm could fit in 12 bikes comfortably using this rack.
