Secure cycle parking specialist Bike Dock Solutions has constructed a ‘bike park’ in the heart of London for the public to use free of charge during the Olympic Games.
The bike park will provide space for up to 60 bicycles and will be open 24 hours a day throughout the duration of the London Olympics. The bike park is located on Rivington Street, Shoreditch, Hackney – close to Shoreditch High Street station.
“2012 could prove to be the greatest year that British cycling has had, with incredible success in the Tour de France and eager anticipation for the Olympics. More people are getting on bicycles, and the Bike Dock Solutions bike park is our contribution to the ‘Summer of Cycling’.
“Some commuters are being advised to avoid public transport during the games – we’re hoping that our bike park will provide people with an incentive to leave their Oyster Cards at home and instead cycle to work,” Bike Dock Solutions director James Nash explained.

The bike park will feature Bike Dock Solutions ‘Semi-Vertical Racks’ which allow users to lock the rear wheel and/or frame using a D-Lock or chain. The facility will also feature Bike Dock Solutions ‘Toastracks’, which are ideal for multiple cycle parking.
Bike Dock Solutions is an official supplier to the TfL Cycle Superhighways scheme.
